Rooted in Nature:
Our Story
Osa Brus & Osa Outdoors Adventures is more than just a tour operator; we are a family-run ecotourism company born from a deep love for the Osa Peninsula. Our journey began over 20 years ago with a single mission: to share the raw beauty of Costa Rica’s last frontier while preserving its delicate ecosystems.
Led by local experts who have spent their lives navigating these
rainforests, we provide a genuine connection to nature that only
decades of local immersion can offer. Every expedition is
designed to be personal, educational, and profoundly respectful
of the wildlife we call neighbors.
"An Unforgettable Encounter with Nature"
Andy MVerificada Awesome guide and Experience in Drake’s Bay If you want a personalised wildlife experience with an ultra enthusiastic expert on plants, birds and everything in between, look no further than super Steven and the landowner, Gilberto. We had a brilliant, informative well paced hike, giving us loads of time to spot and photograph animals, plants and birds. If we, or our friends, come to Costa Rica in the near future we would not hesitate to recommend or get in touch with Steven to coordinate expert wildlife trips. Kath and I are lucky to be quite well travelled but agree that Steven is one of the best guides we have had the pleasure to meet. Thanks for a fantastic unforgettable experience. We wish you every success with your business, although we are sure with your enthusiasm it’s guaranteed to fly. Pura Vida Kath and Andy CyclingManBedsVerificada 5 guests to 1 guide, so lots of details shared about the forest and able to take time to explore and see lots of animals. Added Excellent small group tour of primary rain forest Kai MVerificada Off the usual paths into the forest! We really loved our tour! Karen is so enthusiastic about nature and you can really feel her passion for it during the tour. Since the group size is really small, you can fire away all your questions. In addition to this all her explanations taught us much about the forests and its history. We saw many animals on our walk, including spider monkeys, a snake, little bats hiding in cut palm leaves and many many beautiful birds and insects. Doing this tour you get to see a side of nature without concrete or wooden paths, just forest grounds and I have never felt so close to nature before. The traditionally made lunch was also so delicious and a cherry on top of a wonderful activity. Thank you Karen for the amazing tour! Tobias CVerificada Great experience We saw many frogs, some birds, spiders, scorpions and other species. The walk was adventurous, we had lots of fun walking through the river and the rain forest. Thanks to our super friendly and experienced guides, we can recommend doing this tour when you are in the area Annemieke VVerificada Unforgettable stay in Corcovado National Park A colleague who had been to Corcovado National Park recommended Steven as a guide. Steven completely lived up to the enthusiastic stories. He's an energetic, cheerful guide who carefully assesses the group he's taking and considers their needs. In our case (five family members, aged 56, 53, 23, 21, and 19), this turned out to be not only about taking photos of all the animals there, but also about providing additional information about the different types of landscape, plants, fungi, insects, and animals that live there, and how everything is interconnected. Steven is very knowledgeable and enjoys explaining everything. Moreover, without him, you'd only see 10% of what lives there. Using a special flashlight, he reveals tracks and, for example, snakes in the hollow of a tree. All the "large" animals were also discussed. Steven can imitate many animal sounds, which can be a bit awkward when searching. He's driven and makes a great effort to locate as many animals as possible. After our day, night, and morning spent with Steven on various walks through the park, we made a list of all the animals we'd seen. It was quite a long list. If you want a guide who can show you everything in the park and tell you all about it, Steven is a great choice. He's also a cheerful, open person who's easy to talk to. For us it has been an unforgettable experience! OnAir16209707552Verificada Recommendation Highly recommended! Steven is an excellent guide! Very knowledgeable, knows how to imitate animal sounds and also knows medicinal plants of the local culture. He also does everything with a smile and joy. We loved him so much that we took him on two trips - one at Sirena Station, and one at night in Drake Bay. Simply an excellent guide! Dagmar SVerificada The best jungle Our guide Steve showed as maximum possible and his experience with the forest are so interesting. We want to come again. Zachary WVerificada Quite the jungle stroll! The preliminary sensations of arriving at Corcovado National Park is intense. We spent much time in many different parks but this park had a lot of hype and reputation for being one of the best old growth tropical forests still remaining on the pacific coast! Needless to say we were excited! We joined the rest of the group in Drake bay at 615 am, enjoyed a 45 min boat ride at 25-35 knots cruising along the coast to Sirena lodge. It just a short 3 hour stroll through the jungle along the Rio claro trail we encountered an unrivaled amount of species. Spider monkeys, ant-eater, mecos monkeys, a 3-toed sloth and baby, curacawo birds, egrets, Hurons, many different lizards and birds species. Then on the next part of the trail we had a resting tapir, boa constrictor, a beautiful display of leaf cutter ants, soldier ants, many different butterflies and spider species. Honestly, too much to name and remember just a few hours later. Our guide, Steven was incredible! Just so our speed with life, philosophy, perspective, knowledge, and realism. I’m a professional guide back in California and Steven is very personable and incredibly knowledgeable about all the flora and fauna. Not only that. He has a utmost respect for his coworkers- the animals. He respects there space first, I saw other groups with their guide getting too close to suspects and causing potential stress..which we should all avoid in these rare and special places. Much love and respect to our guide Steven! I hope we have the pleasure and luck to join him on another excursion in the future! Pura vida!! Joanna MVerificada A Magical Experience with a Expert Guide! My dad and I booked a 2 day 1 night trip to Sirena station. My dad unfortunately fell ill the day we were due to go and was not able to attend. They were extremely accomodating to our situation, deducting 50% of his ticket fee even after such short notice which we were very grateful for. The tour itself was a magical experience, Steven is super knowledgeable and intune with the surrounding nature. With 20+ years experience in his craft, he knew all the animal species, flaura and fauna + their medical value, and the symbiotic relationship between the inhabitants of the forest, you can certainly see see his passion for his job. During the trip, we were able to see 3 of the 4 species of monkey, The Norther Tamandua, Peccary, Red brocket deer, Three toad sloth, an Agouti, bats, many species of bird, amphibians and reptiles, and more! We even got up close to Tapirs, Coatis, and a juvenile squirrel monkey! Steven explained to us the different adaptations each species of animal, and plant has to thrive in the jungle. I cannot recommend this experience enough, it would not have been the same without Steven, and I am so thankful to have shared this experience with the group. Jack GaikwadVerificada Simply Incredible We did a private day tour to Corcovado National Park. Steven was great and prompt from the word go. He gave us Gustavo as our guide since Steven was with overnight group. It turned out our one of the best wildlife experiences. Can't thank enough to Gustavo. He was out there to give us the best experience and always went out of his way. He was too good to spot animals and birds. We saw tapirs, 3 types of monkeys, peckaries, sloth, anteater, toucans, scarlet macaws, woodpeckers, three different types of turkeys. On top of it, we saw Barba Amarilla (Fer de lance). It was on eof the best tours we had. Can't praise and than enpugh to Gustavo and Steven,
