Safety and Sustainability Policy

Osa Outdoors Adventures

General Commitment

At Osa Outdoors Adventures, our priority is to ensure the safety, well-being, and satisfaction of every visitor, while protecting and preserving the priceless natural treasures of Corcovado National Park and the Osa Peninsula.
We work with deep respect for nature, local communities, and the environmental regulations that guide responsible tourism in Costa Rica.

1. Operational Safety

  • Before every activity, guests receive a safety briefing covering all relevant procedures and park regulations.

  • All our guides are certified by ICT and SINAC, and are continuously trained in first aid and basic rescue (CPR).

  • All equipment is inspected before each tour to ensure proper condition and functionality.

  • Life jackets are mandatory on all boat tours.

  • Each vehicle and boat used in our operations is company-owned, insured, and regularly inspected.

  • First aid kits are available at all times, and staff are trained to respond effectively in case of an emergency.

  • In emergency situations, Osa Outdoors Adventures follows established protocols prioritizing guest safety and coordination with local authorities.

2. Environmental Sustainability

We operate under the belief that responsible tourism must protect rather than impact the environment. Therefore:

  • We promote the “Leave No Trace” philosophy throughout our tours.

  • We minimize the use of single-use plastics and promote recycling and responsible use of water and energy.

  • We educate visitors on respectful wildlife observation and environmental awareness.

  • We support local families and community projects, helping strengthen the local economy of the Osa Peninsula.

  • We adhere to the sustainability guidelines of the Costa Rican Tourism Board (ICT) and the National System of Conservation Areas (SINAC).

3. Compliance and Responsibility

  • Osa Outdoors Adventures is in the process of certification with the ICT’s Sustainable Tourism Certification (CST).

  • Our operations inside Corcovado National Park are carried out in direct coordination with SINAC, following authorized routes, visitor limits, and environmental standards.

  • We are committed to continuous improvement, with regular internal reviews of our safety, sustainability, and guest experience practices.

4. Environmental Education

We believe that every visit is an opportunity to inspire respect and awareness for nature.
Our guides share insights about local biodiversity, culture, and conservation practices, creating an educational and transformative experience for each traveler.

5. Review and Updates

This policy is reviewed periodically to ensure it remains aligned with current legislation and sustainable tourism best practices.

At Osa Outdoors Adventures, safety and sustainability are not just obligations — they are values that define our way of exploring, serving, and living nature.
