The journey begins at 6:00 a.m. at Playa Colorada, Drake Bay 🛥️, where your certified bilingual naturalist guide will welcome you to start a scenic boat ride along the Térraba-Sierpe mangroves 🌿.
During the tour, you’ll explore the largest mangrove forest in Central America, home to eight mangrove species including black, red, tea, and grey mangroves. Your guide will point out crocodiles, caimans, turtles, monkeys, coatis, and a variety of birds 🐊🦜.
Mangroves are fascinating plants with specialized roots that survive in salty water and low oxygen. Below the surface, freshwater fish and mollusks thrive, making this ecosystem a paradise for wildlife lovers and bird watchers alike.
The guided tour lasts approximately 7 hours, allowing you to fully enjoy the wildlife and serene landscapes.
