Tamandua Biological Station

The perfect blend of forest and natural pools for your soul's delight!

Located just 4 km from the town of Drake Bay, within the Golfo Dulce Forest Reserve and bordering Corcovado National Park, you can find the Tamandua Biological Station. Within an incredible rainforest you can count on private trails where you can find beautiful waterfalls, swimming pools and many animals such as birds, amphibians, reptiles and insects.

The experience begins with a trip from Drake Bay to the site, either on foot or by private transport ($30). During the rainy season there is only access by horse, quad or walking.

The place has 3 bungalows with shared bathrooms and 2 bungalows with private bathrooms. It also has a common rest area by the river, kitchen and dining room. 

OVERNIGHT

The adventure begins at 6:00 am in Drake Bay where you will meet your guide. When you arrive at the place you will enjoy a tour on the local trails, where your naturalist guide will help you discover the beautiful secrets that nature holds here. After lunch, you can settle in and take a break.

As night falls the adventure continues, during the night walk you will experience a new world awakening in the forest. The next day you can return to Drake, either on foot or by hiring transportation ($30).

It includes: food (lunch, dinner and breakfast), accommodation, guide, transport (optional). 

DAY TOUR

The adventure begins at 6:00 am in Drake Bay where you will meet your guide. The transport will drop you off at the station and when you arrive your naturalist guide will help you discover the different attractions while you enjoy a walk on the local trails.

Afterwards you can enjoy a delicious lunch and return to the village, you can do it on foot or hire transportation ($30).
